“Yoga cultivates health and well-being (physical, emotional, mental & social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation. Yoga is an approach to life that values appropriate effort, based on balance and harmony, within each person & with each other”.

Olivia was teaching open classes at the Diamond Creek Community Centre and Salvos Yoga, as well as closed classes at The Salvation Army (for women fleeing family violence and people battling addiction) prior to moving to New York in 2021.
During the Covid19 pandemic in Melbourne Olivia worked with Salvos Yoga to produced five online yoga sessions called ‘Restore’. In todays changing environment Restore may be just the tonic for people who are feeling isolated and disconnected. It offers each of us a chance to just stop, breathe, & refocus, as we face the challenges of each day.

TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA
“Trauma Sensitive Yoga Australia is a community of yoga teachers and mental health clinicians who have an interest in expanding the awareness of trauma sensitive practices within the traditional yoga class format and clinical setting. The aim of this community is to educate and develop awareness of the benefits of these techniques in conjunction with the psychological support that clients in trauma recovery may already be receiving”.
As a Trauma Aware yoga practitioner Olivia can help you to learn how to calm your mind and regain safety in your body. Trauma sensitive yoga can help you regain a sense of empowerment and choice for yourself.
Olivia is back in Melbourne and has some limited availability for teaching classes. Contact her at:
